Abstract

This paper deals with semantic aspects of anglicisms which have flooded ecnonomic terminology in the Serbian language, with advanced technology, numerous changes and rapid development in the fields of economics and business for the last twenty years. The analysis aims to show the way English loanwords form their meaning in the process of their integration, the types of changes as well as the relationship between the meaning of a loanword and the meaning of a model in the target language. The paper also reveals some new tendencies of the usage of anglicisms which are the result of an uncritical attitude toward words derived from English speaking countries.
