Forensic Examination of Handwriting

Abstract

Expert evaluation of handwriting, that is, forensic examination of document, aims to provide answers about the document at issue, to specify or to exclude certain person as the author, to use of various scientific methods. While working on the case, we pass through a few basic steps, which may be divided into three groups: disputed and undisputed handwriting is examined and identified characteristics are confirmed; the identified characteristics are mutually compared; the expert determines which characteristics are valid for formulating the opinion and making the conclusions.
