Examination of Possibilities for Placing Urban Tourist Signalization on Lighting Poles in the City of Mostar and Their Impact on Traffic Safety
Abstract
Putting up of freestanding signalization along the carriageway just like the placing of signalization on lighting
poles are anticipated under the City of Mostar urban-tourist signalization project. The City of Mostar is situated in the
third wind zone where the law envisages the possibility of winds blowing at the speed of up to around v = 42 m/s i.e. 151
km/h, resulting in the dynamic pressure of q= av2/2=1100 Pa, and the verifi cation of buildings’ resistance to the impact of
such pressure. In reality, even higher wind speeds were measured in the city and in the surroundings which exceeded the
speed of around 200 km/h i.e. 60 m/s, resulting in the dynamic pressure of q1= 2250 Pa. It is for the above reasons that an
examination of resistance will be performed for both cases just like of their impact on traffi c safety in the City of Mostar.
