Abstract

At the beginning of this paper, the authors are point out that the incrimination of hate crimes through the legislation of many countries around the world occurred during the last century. However, the oppinion of criminologists on the application of restorative justice to hate crimes is widely accepted. In this paper, the authors emphasize the existence of two models of restorative justice, diversionary and therapeutic, providing more detailed explanations of each model individually. Also, the authors give an explanation of the subject models when it comes to their application in the Republic of Serbia, having in mind the current legal regulations.
