The tendency for high and stable yields in vegetable production has resulted in a significantly higher use of mineral and organic fertilizers, pesticides, various materials for the cultivation and calcification of land. Intensive production and use of these substances increases the risk of increased concentrations of heavy metals in the land. In addition to agriculture, the expansion of settlements-urbanization, industrialization and the development of mass transport contribute to the input of heavy metals into the land. Heavy metals in the land pose a great risk because they pass through the plants into the food chain, which must be controlled appropriately in order to prevent the entry or increase in the concentration of heavy metals. The paper presents the results of the laboratory analysis of the land with 44 parcels on which vegetable crops have been intensively cultivated over the past 10 years. The results of the analysis confirmed that our agricultural land still does not have an increased concentration of heavy metals.
