Abstract

The basic characteristic of modern vegetable production is in the rapid introduction of the latest scientific knowledge in production practice, the use of raw materials of the highest quality and significant investments in modern equipment, materials and machinery. Regarding that, this paper presents the effect of foil, straw and agrilic covering and growing in greenhouses and open-air on the yield of pepper produced by direct sowing. The use and integration of new materials and production methods are aimed at obtaining pepper yields of high quality and health-safety. The latest ways of production should increase the efficiency of production and also to lead to a harmonious relationship between economic and environmental goals.
