Abstract

The concept of acute social withdrawal of an individual, isolation, which lasts longer than 6 months and is present in economically developed Asian countries, especially Japan, is called hikikomori. As a modern model of behavior, hikikomori syndrome is more common among teenagers and young people and is correlated with internet addiction, manga / anime culture and playing video games. It is characterized by dropping out of school, work, retreating to a room, and communicating with the outside world, exclusively through social networks. Hikikomori is closely related to the Japanese term amae, which is expressed as the desire to be loved and the need for someone to take care of you. The author deals with the analysis of this phenomenon, provides insight into the pathogenesis of hikikomori syndrome and its clinical picture.
