One of the key factors for the successful digital transformation of waste collection and disposal companies is a change in business process management. The introduction of new technologies, with the integration of IoT, GIS and AI tools, requires the reengineering of business processes through an agile approach. In addition, this requires the improvement of employees’ digital competencies and the automation of decision-making. The key issue for the success of the digitalization process is in the model that defines the methods for implementing specific technological solutions and digital tools. These tools are necessary for collecting daily transactional information about the business, which can support or automate business decision-making in the short and long term context, assisted by AI technologies. The process of controlling business processes makes it possible to define and measure the impact on the overall economic indicators of the company. This paper proposes a model for integrating new technologies into the digital transformation process, illustrated through the case study of ALBA Zenica d.o.o.
