The scientific article “Opportunities and Barriers to Sustainable Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship in Bosnia and Herzegovina” aims to comprehensively examine the current state of women’s entrepreneurship in the country through examples from regional countries. The focus will be on identifying key challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and exploring potential opportunities for enhancing their participation in sustainable economic development. The expected results of the research will provide a deeper understanding of the socio-economic factors, legislative framework, and available resources that influence female entrepreneurship in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This article aims to provide concrete recommendations for policies supporting women entrepreneurs, as well as strengthening the capacity of local organizations and institutions that support them, and raising awareness about the importance of inclusive economic opportunities for women.
The research will cover an analysis of the current state of women’s entrepreneurship, including socio-economic factors, available resources, legislative framework, and cultural barriers. Key challenges such as lack of financial resources, insufficient support for training and skills development, and cultural and societal stereotypes will be identified. Additionally, the article will present concrete recommendations for legislative reforms, improving access to financial resources, and supporting education and mentorship. Special focus will be placed on building the capacity of women entrepreneurs through education, mentorship, and access to networks, with the aim of strengthening their role in the economy and society.
The expected results of the research include reducing gender-based disparities in entrepreneurship and raising awareness about the importance of supporting women’s economic empowerment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This article contributes to increasing awareness among decision-makers, the business community, and the public about the importance of women’s entrepreneurship for economic development. The research will involve at least 50 and up to 100 respondents, with data collected via a survey questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS 26.0. The target group of the research are women entrepreneurs in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
