Abstract

This paper examines the impact of integrating the Internet o fThings (IoT) into inventory tracking processes within ERP systems, focusing on cost reduction and efficiency improvement in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As a key technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, IoT offers significant potential for business improvement, but research has primarily focused on large enterprises. SMEs, essential for economic growth, face challenges such as initial investments and the need for additional employee training. Through literature analysis and empirical research, the paper demonstrates that IoT devices, such as sensors and RFID systems, enable more accurate real-time inventory tracking, error reduction, and business process optimization.The findings indicate cost savings, increased productivity, and faster decision-making, bringing substantial economic and operational benefitsto SMEs in the digital society.
