The Artificial Intelligence (AI) progress has considerably transformed modern banking sector by reshaping both commercial and central banking through automatization of business processes, increased security and better regulatory compliance. AI enables banks to become more competitive, faster and more efficient in making their decisions with decreased risks and supply of better services for their customers. Commercial banks have additionally improved the evaluations of their customers’ credit worthiness, made possible personalisation of products and services with more efficient risk management. Intelligent chatbots and virtual assistants for real time conversations have simplified interaction with customers and shortened the response time improving customer experiences. Central banks use AI for analyses and forecasts of market trends in order to adjust their monetary policies on time and ensure financial stability. However, integration of AI in modern banking includes some risks. Endangering data privacy, automated decision making, potential job losses and threats to cyber security are some of the challenges which banks are facing.
