The primary role of a “chat-bot” is to provide answers to users’ questions in all areas of life and solve simple and complex tasks in real-time. Increasing the number of users, there is also room for the development of new applications with similar or the same capabilities. DeepSeek is an application that has changed much in the IT market because its creators managed to develop the app based on different principles than those used for the development of other applications in this family. Chinese scientists have managed to reduce development costs compared to competitors from the Western market (ChatGPT, Gemini), and just seven days after DeepSeek was launched, it shook the financial market and technological giants like Nvidia, Microsoft, Nasdaq, and many others. The objectives of this paper should show Whether DeepSeek has the same capabilities as ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and others, Who stands behind DeepSeek and how the application was developed, How American companies were impacted, and Whether DeepSeek’s rise is good or bad news.
