Abstract

This paper focuses on the development of robotic systems for the automation of grape harvesting and harvesting, addressing the problems of seasonal labour shortages, high costs and time delays. The aim is to use autonomous robotic vehicles and conveyor belts to reduce crop damage and speed up manipulation. The research includes analysis of existing practices, ideas for sensor and algorithm development and subsequent prototype testing. The project supports sustainable viticulture in line with European strategies such as the European Green Deal and Farm to Fork, and contributes to increasing the productivity, quality and competitiveness of the sector.
