Abstract

The author analyzes the criminal-legal characteristics of abduction in the Republic of Srpska, which consists of the unlawful deprivation of liberty, extortion or coercion, citing differences with respect to the crime of abduction in the Republic of Serbia. The paper points to specific legislative shortcomings that apply to it, especially the optional ground for exemption from punishment. Special attention was given to this offense as an element of other crimes such as terrorism, hostage taking, etc.
