Taking as a starting point the fact that a lacuna is a specific linguistic phenomenon that many researchers have been interested in, mainly for its basic lexical aspect as well as its phraseological-paremiological, stylistic and lexicographic aspects, we would especially like to emphasize the problems in translation that it causes as such when related or non-related languages are in contact. As a result, there is the need for thorough analysis of translation procedures for translating a lacuna, the overview of which we have tried to compose relying on already existing methods in translation, through the prism of Russian and Serbian linguistic literature.
